Flatline

From medical terminology — when a heart monitor shows a flat line, the patient is dead. In Night City's violent culture, it became a casual verb for murder.

Used since the original TTRPG. Central to Cyberpunk 2077's vocabulary. The in-game achievement system is literally called 'Flatlined.'

Not technically a curse word but a violent slang term. Its casual use reflects Night City's extreme desensitization to violence.

Consistent from the 1988 TTRPG through Cyberpunk 2077 and Edgerunners. Became more widely known through the 2020 game.

Universal across Night City.
