/GOR-ee-dam/ adjective/interjection

≈ “Goddamn / Fucking (upper class)

The Gold (ruling class) equivalent of 'bloodydamn.' Same function, different word — and the difference marks your entire social identity. Darrow must learn to say this instead of 'bloodydamn' to pass as Gold.

A Gold would rather die than use that slithering mineslang. 'Gorydamn' or 'gory'; and 'slag' instead of 'squab.'
Gold characters; Darrow (when disguised)

Etymology
