From Tolkien's Black Speech. The full phrase 'Uglúk u bagronk sha pushdug Saruman-glob búbhosh skai' was left untranslated by Tolkien because he considered it too vulgar. Fan translations include words like 'dung-filth' and 'cesspool.'

Usage History

Appears in The Two Towers (1954). One of the few instances of genuinely vulgar language in Tolkien, made more striking by being in an alien tongue.
